10. Mardaani 2

This year many Bollywood films have inspired by true events. The second sequel of Mardaani is one of those movies which are inspired by real life incidence. Bollywood’s most handsome actor Hrithik Roshan surprised his fans by his very different make over for Super30 directed by Vikas Bhel.  This critically acclaimed movie narrating the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, a mathematician who opens a platform named Super 30 where he teaches 30 students for IIT in free cost. For this Biographical drama Hrithik not just changed the look but also changed the body language and voice modulation to justify the character of Anand Kumar. After super 30 another Biographical film which got both Critics and standard Audience attention is Sky is Pink. India’s international icon Priyanka Chopra made comeback to Bollywood after 3 years through Sky i s Pink directed by Shonali Bose. The interesting fact is that Priyanka also coproduced the movie along with Siddharth Roy Kapur & Ronnie Screwvala. Article 15 is the one of the bold movie released in 2019 because it narrates a sensitive subject. The film deals with Article 15 of the Constitution of India, which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. This crime drama  directed by Anubhav Sinha is about a police investigation that originates after three adolescent girls go missing from a small village. The film is inspired by multiple true life events including 2014 Badaun gang rape allegations and 2016 Una flogging incident. This  Ayushmann Khurrana starrer film received positive reviews from critics for the complex depiction of its subject matter.

 Kabir Singh is the second highest grossing Bollywood film of 2019.  This T-Series coproduced movie is written and directed by Sandeep Vanga who made remake of his own Telugu film Arjun Reddy as Kabirsingh. In this romantic drama Shahid Kapoor plays a surgeon who ringlets into self-destruction when his girlfriend leaves him. Shahid gave one of the best performances of his career as Kabir Singh. Even though there was  mixed reaction for Kabir singh from the critics, Bollywood movie lovers around the world accepted the film and made it a super hit.  Shahid Kapoor Kiara advani pair gave the most romantic song of 2019. Kabir Singh’s   Bekhayali dil  song  written by Irshad kamil and composed by Sachet-Parampara became the most loved song of 2019

Uri is one of the biggest hit of 2019 which is made based on real life incidence. Debutant director Aditya Dhar’s film is a factional account of the reprisal to the 2016 Uri attack. It follows Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army, who plays a leading role in the events. Vicky Kaushal as Major Vihaan Singh Shergill made a high josh among the audience. He got the National award for his outstanding performance in Uri. This film was also appreciated for its stunning cinematography and the VFX work. This patriotic movie earned worldwide gross collection to 342. crores without any super star in the cast list.

Gully boy is selected as the best movie released in 2019 based on its quality, popularity and positive reviews received form critics and audience. This Zoya Akthar movie is the official Indian submissions for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. This ranveer singh starer movie is inspired by the lives of Indian street rappers Divine and Naezy. The film is a coming-of-age story about an ambitious street rapper from the Dharavi slums of Mumbai. Gully boy is the biggest musical hit of 2019 with 18-song soundtrack composed by 18 different music directors. Just like the movie is widely appreciated for its music, Alia Butt and Ranveer Singh’s performance in this movie also got a applauses from the audience.
